Thousands of years ago, the World of Piece used to be a land wherein peace reigned. Everyone is equal in the field of magic, especially summoning spirits known as "Familiars". Familiars are linked to their human host. But if their host dies the Familiar itself wanders around the world, lost.

The world is divided in eight countries, two of which are the most powerful kingdoms. One is the country of Alastaire, and the other is the country of Regiettes. While the other six countries; Umailya, Klamar, Linfore, Heilan, Geistrie, and Foreur are neutral countries, all of them are connected by different roads to choose which they'll head to.

However, the country of Regiettes is about to change and it will become the country that everyone is afraid of. One day, the King of Regiettes wanted more than he imagined, he wants to rule the whole world and build it in his own image. Because of this, his heart became corrupted and his familiar was overwhelmed by the darkness.

The power of darkness deep inside his familiar has the ability, that instead of releasing his familiar, the King's body transmogrified into a black entity known . Because of this overwhelming power, the King controls his shadow and became the first known as the "Prime". With this power, he soon became corrupted and began to plot his world domination against the other seven countries. With his new power at hand, he gave each of his soldiers and his people the same power, turning them into monsters.

They began invading the first country that is closest to theirs, and afterwards the people of the invading country are either accepting the corrupted King's offer or perish in vain. Some accepted it, but others refused and perished. Those who accepted it became Eidolons, Regiettes' colonized country.

Because of this, his power grew stronger making himself as the ruler of the country. Unfortunately his gift is also a curse, as night falls on them a great tragedy is upon Regiettes, where the people who received the darkness cannot control it. They were devoured by their shadows turning them into unimaginable beastly creatures. For those who are unable to return to their human form becomes a "Devi" and is forever cursed to be a monster.. The king witnessed this tragedy and regretted on the power he received is nothing but a curse. As the king is slowly devastated by this, his kingdom became dark until the forest entrance. Seemingly lost all hope, the King then thought that his country became dark, and the opposite is light. As he look at the farthest end is the kingdom of Alastaire, which he called the kingdom of light, and witness the highest potential of magic within the kingdom.

The king gathered his people and announced that to remove the curse within them, they have no other choice but to invade the kingdom of Alastaire, and look for a cure to end their curse.

The Regiettes' Army, together with their King, are gathered in Alastaire's mountain ranges before the assault. As the Regiettes' army began their assault, Alastaire's first queen casts a magical barrier surrounding the whole kingdom from their attacks, while their soldiers counter the enemies attack.

Thus the war between Regiettes and Alastaire began and ended in a stalemate, with neither of them ever giving up or being defeated… Until that fateful day.

300 years later, The King and Queen of Regiettes, together with the 8 year old prince Arcell, was on their way back from visiting one of their colonies in Heilan. The prince like all the rest of the people of Regiettes has jet black hair and eyes. He is an honest boy who is loved by his parents despite their nature of being brutal. Arcell's eyes are almond shaped, one would be immediately captured by his strong yet honest gaze.

It takes 3 whole days to travel from Regiettes to Heilan. They were riding a winged carriage which is being pulled by two dragon-dog like creatures known as Dragmas and soared through the sky. This luxurious trip was interrupted when they came across a storm and a lightning bolt hits them causing to hurdle towards the ground. The carriage driver desperately tried to stir them into safety but it was useless. The wings of the Dragon dogs were fried and they were unable to fly. After the crash, Arcell woke up in his mother's embrace. He saw his parents blood all over the place. They were dead. He saw that aside from him, the two Dragmas were able to survive the crash as well. He took one of the dogs and decided to head back to Regiettes after burying his parents.

Days passed and Arcell was lost in the woods. He stayed near the river in hopes of finding some people. A little later on, he did. As he was resting, he saw a pregnant woman running. Arcell was stunned with the woman's unbelievable demeanor. Never in his life has he seen someone as beautiful as her. Her long wavy white hair glittered like silk as she ran. Her golden eyes were kind, mesmerizing and tender. Her qualities indicated that she was a noble woman from Alastaire. The woman tripped and dropped on the ground. It was at this moment that Arcell snapped out of his dazed state and saw that the woman was being chased by two Devis. He immediately got on his dragon dog's back and hurried towards the woman. The woman saw him as he desperately extended his arm to her. She grabbed his hand and got on the Dragma and they hurriedly made their escape.

Arcell got to know the woman as Corin. Even though they just got away from a dire situation, she remained cheerful. She made him feel happy even though they were both just aimlessly wandering about the woods. She easily laughs at the most trivial things and she would fuss about the littlest things. For two whole days, they both traveled together. Arcell found himself getting more and more attracted to this woman.

On the third night that they were together, They stopped by a cave for shelter. Corin brought out a tiny cube which transformed into a sleeping bag as pressed on it's side. Arcell then got in the bag first while Corin set up fire. For three days they slept together in one bag. Corin loved how Arcell fits perfectly within her embrace and would usually say that she wished her child will be as cute as Arcell. Arcell was fine with the fact that Corin sees him as someone similar to a son given the fact that they're probably more than ten years apart in age.

As Corin was preparing the fire, she suddenly felt ill in her stomach. Arcell hurried towards her side as she crawled her way to lean on the walls of the cave.

Corin was about to give birth.

Being only a boy, Arcell didn't know what to do. this was his first time witnessing child birth. Arcell ran to get water but before he could step out of the cave, He heard a loud shrieking noise that banged inside his head. Arcell collapsed on the floor holding his head and looked back at Corin. He could hear the noise coming from her direction. The noises, he realized, were the cries of the baby that Corin was about to give birth.

As the cries continued to echo inside Arcell's head, he felt his blood rising. His eyes started to turn red as he stared at Corin, who was having labor pains. A black aura started  to ooze out of Arcell's body and Corin saw this. She called on Arcell asking if he was alright and Arcell just told her that he couldn't control himself. The black smoke devoured Arcell as Corin screamed and the baby cried louder inside his head. The smoke started to lift revealing a young boy with huge horns that curls in an arc, big fangs,  black claws which are as hard a steel, a strong reptilian-like tail, 3 pairs of demonic wings with the middle pair being the largest, his sclera became black, his iris red and his pupils like that of a snake. Arcell in his shadow form was as beautiful as it was scary. He looked more like a fallen angel than a blood-thirsty monster.

Arcell lost himself and began to attack Corin. Corin summoned her familiar and built a small barrier around her as she was still in labor. Corin's familiar is a small and white cat-like creature with four long tails, emerald green eyes and ears almost as big, probably bigger than its head. Its legs were long and slender. It has small feet that jumped high and light making it seem like it's flying. The creature also wears two rings on its left forefoot.

Hours passed with Corin desperately fending off Arcell, who was ruthlessly trying to break her barrier, as she gives birth.

It was when the baby came out that Corin weakened as she severed her astral connection with her familiar and Arcell was able to break through the barrier. Arcell's hand stabbed through Corin's chest. Suddenly, a strong white aura that came out from Corin hovered over the new-born baby and disappeared. The cave shook, then at the midst of all the ground shaking, another white aura bursts out. It came from the infant and suddenly possessed Arcell. After things died down, Corin's blood comes out of her mouth and gently drips down her soft pink lower lip. Realizing what he has done, Arcell slowly reverted back to his human form. Tears started to form in his eyes as he stared at Corin who smiled at him and told the boy that she was glad he came back to his senses.

Before dying, Corin handed Arcell her necklace all bloodied up and told him to put it around her baby's neck. She told him that it is their family's crest and then she took her last breath and died quietly and beautifully in young Arcell's hands. If not for all the blood, one would think that she was fast asleep. The boy in his grief  can only stare at the necklace. It had a big dragon's head, its mouth wide-open holds a big sapphire gem. The dragon's claws are just a few centimeters below its head and are clasped together holding another gem, the same as the other one but only smaller. It's wings rests one each side, wrapping itself around the pendant. The chains of the necklace as well as the details of the dragon are all silver with gold linings. Arcell places Corin gently on the ground and kissed her forehead. His heart, left in tatters could no longer do anything about what has been done. And so he went to check the infant who was sleeping soundly. He leaned down on the baby. Then suddenly two big cat-like eyes shot open and focused upon him. Arcell got caught in the baby's gaze and for some reason he had a weird feeling inside him. He felt like the baby was ordering him to do something. He then quickly put the necklace around the baby's neck and placed him in the sleeping bag.

As the sun began to rise, Arcell stands in front of Corin's grave which he just finished making. He silently sent his farewell and promised to get the baby back home, back in Alastaire. He turns around towards his Dragma where the baby is hanging at it's side. The baby was still asleep in the sleeping bag which Arcell tied at the side of the Dragma making it a pouch. Before getting on, Arcell noticed something small inside the gemstone. When he looked at it closely, he saw the crest of Alastaire's royal family engraved at the back of the dragon's mouth positioned in between the gemstone. Arcell's face started to go pale as he realized that his first love, the woman he killed, the mother of the baby he's looking at right now is most probably the Queen of Alastaire.

Arcell's guilt grew more inside him. He blamed himself for killing Corin and taking away the mother of the child. The young prince swore to never touch Alastaire and its people to pay for what he have done.

He came across an Alastairean camp just a few miles away from the cave. He sneaked into one of the tents and placed the baby in the bed. Just as he was staring at the baby and telling him that he was sorry, a young boy about his age with platinum blonde hair and grey eyes appeared behind him. The boy's name is Reesse, a squire to the knight who owns that certain tent. Reese began to question Arcell. He picked up his sword and assumed position as he asked Arcell what a Regiettean doing in an Alastairean camp. Arcell then told Reesse that he wasn't there to make any trouble and that he was only delivering something to the Alastairean Kingdom.

Arcell took his leave and Reesse went to look at the thing Arcell left in the bed only to be shocked that it was a baby wearing the Queen's necklace.

When Arcell came back to Regiettes, he was crowned King.

For 17 years there was no war between Regiettes and Alastaire. It was the young King's first order. The elders have no choice but to follow him suit. At night still, the kingdom of Alastaire had become hunters to subdue rogue shadows. There was faux peace until Arcell decided to leave his kingdom on a quest to find a cure. In Arcell's absence, Tyus, the ambitious Bishop of Regiettes took over in place of him. Unlike Arcell, Tyus doesn't agree with the halted attack on Alastaire. Tyus is a handsome middle aged man with a well build body. His shoulder length hair pulled back to a pony-tail. He always has this majestic air of dignity around him as he walks about the castle.

As Tyus makes preparations to resume the attacks on Alastaire, Arcell, who is now a full grown man, was in Alastaire trying to blend in by hiding his black hair and black eyes with magic. His hair and eyes became light brown. Arcell moved from library to library in Alastaire in hopes of finding more about the whereabouts of the legendary Angel's tear. A sapphire blue stone that is said to have the ability to purify the corrupted. Arcell's search has all been in vain. He found nothing. Arcell then moved to the Royal Library which was open to the public located in the first floor of the palace. Still, his search was fruitless.

He went to the Pond in the forest at the back of the Palace to think. He's been going here for weeks since he came. The cool air that the trees delivered felt nice on his skin. The scent of the trees mixed with the scent of the fresh water from the pond was refreshing. The rays of the sun gently and delicately comes down from the holes made by the intertwining of the tree's leaves. and the huge tree at the end of the pond with it's roots spread around the pond made it look like it embracing the small collection of water.

Arcell was talking to his own reflection about how he mustn't give up hope. He always feel a lot better after doing this. He stared at his reflection and his hair and eyes reverted back to normal. He looked at himself for a bit then decided to lie down on the grass where he saw a girl about the age of 17 staring down at him like a curious cat. Arcell got shocked and moved away. The girl looked so much like Corin that his heart started to beat real fast. Her small thin lips were as lush as cherries curled upwards to a smile and her golden cat-like eyes glittered as if she was teasing him. Arcell heard her call him, though he didn't see her move her mouth. The girl's voice reverberated inside his head. He then learns that that girl's name is Khiry and that she is the princess of Alastaire. It just so happens that said place has been somewhat of an oasis to her. Khiry was overjoyed to know that someone could finally hear her voice. It was soft and sweet. It sounded like a young boy's voice and a woman's voice. Her voice was so androgynous that it was pleasing to hear.

They talked to each other for almost an hour. Khiry reminded him of Corin so much that he felt like Khiry was Corin's reincarnation. Khiry didn't ask him about why a Regiettean was in Alastairean lands. Instead she was amazed because she has never seen a Regiettean ever before. She stared at his eyes and played with his hair. Arcell didn't mind because seeing Khiry smile made him all giddy inside. He couldn't explain it, but he has never been this happy since he last met Corin. The sweet moment was interrupted when a Knight with a pale blonde hair appeared telling Khiry that it's time to go home. Arcell recognized the man as Reesse, the squire he met 17 years ago. and Reese recognized Arcell as well.

Reesse glared at Arcell and kindly looked back at Khiry who was moving his arms telling Reese that it was alright. Reesse then placed an arm around Khiry and started walking. Khiry then told Arcell to meet him there again tomorrow.

Every day, Arcell would run from the inn he was staying at to meet with Khiry. He lost track about the reason why he was in Alastaire and only looked forward to seeing the face of the one he longs the most. He and Khiry would play hide-and-go-seek in the forest or chase each other. They'd do such childish things that would be completely ridiculous for people their age but they didn't care. Being together like this and having fun was the only thing that matters to them. The forest became their sanctuary. The trees hid them from the world.  Where there was no war, no shadows. A secret world that belonged only to them.

Peaceful days like these went on, until one day it started to rain while they were walking around the woods like they usually do. They went to a nearby cave to take  refuge from the rain. Khiry found some wood lying around and Arcell used his power to start a fire. While they were both waiting for the rain to pass. Khiry told Arcell that they should remove their clothes and let them dry. Arcell turned back to look away as Khiry begins to remove her top. Arcell then told her that a woman, no matter how good of a friend she is with a man, should never casually reveal herself no matter the circumstance. Khiry then told Arcell that it was alright since they were both guys. Arcell's face suddenly turned pale when he turned to look only to see that the girl he's been in love with had no breast. A weird mixture of emotion started to flow from within Arcell. He felt stupid for not realizing that Khiry was a guy but then who could've guessed? Khiry was more beautiful than the most beautiful girl he has ever seen. Also the fact that Khiry usually wears clothes that can both work for boys and girls didn't help either.

As Arcell tried to compose himself  in a corner, Khiry stood up and approached him. Arcell then saw the necklace around Khiry's neck. It was the same necklace as that of Corin's son. Then it hit him. The baby 17 years ago was Khiry.

Khiry stared at him and told him that he too should remove his clothes or else he could catch a cold. Arcell snapped out of his reverie. He blushed at the sight of Khiry looking at him upwards, water dripping down from his hair to his face, and his torso completely exposed. Arcell looked away blushing and said that Khiry should turn away when he removes his clothes. Khiry thought this weird but didn't ask and turned away.

Arcell was wearing two layers of clothes that the inner didn't get as wet as his coat did. He removed his clothes and placed his driest shirt over Khiry. Khiry got surprised when Arcell gently placed the shirt over his body. Arcell told him that he should wear that over his body so he wouldn't get sick. Khiry smiled and giggled a bit. He thought that it was cute of Arcell to be so worried about him. Arcell saw Khiry smiling at him and he got embarrassed and sat down. Arcell tried to talk about how it'll probably take awhile for the rain to pass that they might end up staying in the cave longer but he got interrupted by Khiry as he sat down beside him to cuddle him. Arcell's eyes widened and his cheeks flushed red. He stared a Khiry who slowly moved his head up to meet his eyes. Khiry then told him that keeping close will help them both keep warm. They both got locked into each other's stares so much that they didn't realise that their faces were only a few inches away from each other.

Their mouths only centimeters away from each other drew closer and closer to each other until they finally met. They were kissing.

After a few hours, the rain finally stopped and Reese found them both in the cave. Upon seeing Khiry's sleeping, he's face lit up. Reese was extremely wet from running around the forest trying to find Khiry. All this time during Khiry and Arcell were in the cave, Reese was looking for Khiry in the rain, worried as to what might've happened to his dear prince.

It was when he saw who was beside Khiry that Reesse's expression changed from relief to pain. He saw Khiry cuddled asleep inside Arcell's embrace. Reese then used his Power, the power to control the wind, to dry himself off.

The sudden gust of wind woke Arcell up and he saw Reesse drying Khiry's clothes. He gentlyz placed a shirt on Khiry's head as a pillow while Khiry sleeps away. Arcell approached Reesse and stopped when Reesse started to talk. He told him that Khiry is important to him and that if Arcell ever does anything to hurt Khiry, he would stop at nothing to see him as a cold corpse. Arcell then told him that he could've killed him the moment he found out who he was but then Reesse said that he hadn't seen Khiry so happy ever since he was a kid. Reesse said that he didn't want to take away Khiry's happiness and he would endure anything just to make Khiry smile. Arcell then said that he would do the same.

The two stopped talking when Khiry woke up. Reesse then took Khiry's dry clothes and started dressing Khiry. Then the three of them silently went back to the palace grounds.

While Arcell was enjoying his stay in Alastaire, Tyus was working on a plan to attack Alastaire. Tyus sent Eidolons to attack the nearby kingdom of Alastaire, Linfore.

Reese, as commander of the royal knights, was sent together with his knights to the front lines of Linfore to fend off the attacks of the group of Eidolons which Tyus sent. He left Khiry in Arcell's care even though the idea of leaving the two of them alone didn't really sit well with him. He had no choice.

As Khiry and Arcell were doing the some research on the angel's tear in the royal library, Keeon, the bishop of Alastaire, approached them asking if he could help them in their endeavours.

As the three of them continued their search on the legendary angel's tear, a loud booming sound echoed outside. Arcell went outside to look at what caused the attack only to see that it was an army from Regiettes attacking Alastaire. Arcell ran towards the Regiettean soldiers when Khiry came out of the library to try to catch up to Arcell but he was too late. Arcell was already away on his way towards the Regittean army. Khiry gave up on chasing Arcell and heard another boom from the king's quarters so he ran as fast as he can. When he arrived the king looked at him and right at that moment, a spear lands directly at the heart of his father.

Arcell saw Tyus riding on a Antelope horse. Arcell ran towards him and demanded an explanation as to why they are attacking Alastaire when he clearly forbids them to. Tyus answered him telling him that what he was doing was for the good of the people of Regiettes. He told Arcell how much time he was wasting lounging around Alastaire when he could be fighting with them so save their people. He convinced Arcell that bringing their rival kingdom down will free them of their curse and it is his duty as king to lead his people.

As chaos went about the whole kingdom, Khiry gathered the Royal knights and discussed their strategies. They were only few but they are the best fire power that they have. Even though he himself was at a loss, he was now the standing king of Alastaire. With his father gone, he must do everything to save the kingdom at all costs. Reesse arrives at the meeting room. Upon seeing that Khiry was alright he had to hug him right there and then. Yet they don't have much time for such sentiments. Khiry and Reesse went on with stratifying their forces in the weakest spots of their barriers. What they don't know is that behind the door, Keeon has heard every single thing that they've discussed. When they dismissed, the bishop went running outside.

Arcell himself felt like he was being dragged along the events. He listened to Tyus's strategy and how they will be victorious when the kingdom of Alastaire is finally theirs. It all sounded wrong. He wanted to go back and take Khiry away with him. Far away where no one knew who they are and could start a new life together. But another side of him knew better. He could not bear to see the downfall of his own people. Whether it was right or wrong, he will no longer abandon his post as the King of Regiettes. He stopped Tyus from discussing and took his place and started commanding orders to his Regiettian knights.

While assaulting from the air, Reesse recognizes a familiar figure walking past the Regiettes without being attacked. It was their own bishop, Keeon and he was talking to Tyus. He was about to fly down and confront them when he saw Khiry exiting the castle and running angrily towards the battle field. He almost instantly lands his familiar to protect the prince. In the shaky hands of the prince is a bloody crown. Then and there he knew what it meant. Khiry is the new king of the kingdom. Reesse announced to his people that from now on, they take orders from Khiry.

Arcell was rounding his knights in the fort when he heard the bells toll. Symbolizing either the death or crowning of a new king. He figured that it was both. He then concluded the meeting and set out for a full out battle. As they march out, he catches a glimpse of Keeon and Tyus. He only clicks his tongue as he lead the front lines.

The battle continues as night time comes. Darkness slowly blanketing all around. And in the fields Arcell and the lead of Alastairan knights finally meet. Reesse dismounts his familiar and decides that it is time for a fair duel. A duel to the death in honor of the prince. He is angry at Arcell. Angry because he's a traitor. A traitor who betrayed his trust and he has hurt the prince. He swore under his breath and charged at Arcell.

The King of Regiettes is far from Reesse's sight and was momentarily distracted by other opponents. Khiry met Arcell in the battle field. His eyes showed that he no longer knew the man who stood in front of him. Arcell, his beloved Arcell, was now an enemy. The thought never came to him that one day he will be battling the person he loved the most. A duel to the death.

As the game of the chess commands, white moves first.

Khiry made the first strike. Arcell parried his attack without batting an eye. He was well trained for this, especially when it comes to sword battle. But what he doesn't know is that Khiry knows most of his moves and therefore uses this against him. Lightning slashed across the skies as the two Kings struck their swords. They moved swiftly as if they were doing a graceful dance. In terms of strength, the two of them are equal. But Arcell's years of experience and endurance won out, therefore disarming Khiry in the process. Upon seeing this Reesse runs out to help his beloved prince.

In the heat of battle, Arcell is disarmed by Reesse. Arcell drops  and Reesse raises his sword and suddenly coughs out blood then falls to the ground, lifeless. Arcell is puzzled and looks around in panic. He sees Tyus slashing Reesse's familiar and leaving it to die. He hears footsteps from behind and turns to see Khiry running for Reesse. Arcell's vision suddenly blurs until he sees nothing but darkness.

Out of Khiry's anger and sadness, he summons his own familiar. The one sleeping in Arcell's heart causing the dark king to lose his mind and turn berserk as there is nothing protecting him from the corrupted anymore.

Arcell is once again the beast that once killed the queen of Alastaire. Khiry desperately trying to defeat Arcell, secretly wishing that the he returns to the kind-hearted King He once knew. Tyus and Keeon are watching nearby, entertaining themselves, waiting for the right moment to strike. They wait for the white king and the black king to kill themselves. Arcell holds Khiry by the neck and when he was about to snap it, Khiry's pendant becomes drenched with their blood and his familiar touches Arcell at the same time and a bright light consumes them.

When the light fades away, they see Arcell as a human again. Those warriors who witnessed this changed ways and started to join Alastaire. They have finally found a cure and it was with Khiry all along. This Enrages Tyus and he holds Keeon's familiar, corrupts it and shoves it back to its host resulting to Keeon being a shadow creature himself. Tyus on the other hand,  he lifts his disguise and kills everyone in sight because of his thirst for power.

With Regiettes, Eidolons and the knights of Alastaire, they hand in hand engage with the corrupted bishops. It was hard and many was lost but they held victory. There are still lots who are cursed and it will take time to heal all kingdoms from ruin but for now there is temporary peace. All have accepted that the war is over and they must repair their homelands, heal the sick and accept differences..
